The photos above represent the 3 stages of the light. The first one is off. The second is switched on and the third shows the difference in brightness controlled by the dimmer switch. As you can see the shade colour changes hue, this represents the different shades considered within the umbrella term colour Tyrian purple.  The video below is just to show it working. The whiteboards have been taken off as you can see in the photos and video. After all, I needed to tighten the bolts because I had to loosen them when removing the original cable. Putting it back on won't be an issue.
Additional piece
A stated I want the light to be able to be fitted onto a staircase by being placed within the spindles. Yet there is a problem with that. Not every staircase is the same dimensions, therefore there is no guarantee that the light can be placed securely. Due to this, I decided I would an additional product to go along with the light. It's a frame. very simple concept, it can either be vertical or horizontal. the idea for it was because at the start o this section I drew inspiration from bed knobs and broomsticks, by how the newel cap on the bed frame lights up. Because of this, I thought why not just make a frame. Another reason is that I have to acknowledge the health and safety side of the project and if there were to be an accident trying to place the light on a staircase then it would be my fault.
